Compliance with these operating instructions is imperative. You are liable for any
damage to the system, if the damage is caused by non-compliance with this
instruction manual or from improper use. This system protects man and machine
with a residual current device (RCD). If the electrical system on board is faulty, the
system cannot operate. Furthermore, your ship must be equipped with a monitored
power lock connection so that you can use this system. If your ship is not properly
equipped, so we advise you about retrofitting. To do so, please contact the operator
of the plant.
- This switchboard works with dagerous voltage.
- The removal of components of any kind and manipulations are strictly prohibited.
- The system must be operated only by qualified personal.
- Before turning on the system, turn off the voltage on board. There is extreme
danger for man and machine. The interconnecting of board voltage and mains
voltage will be damaged or destructed this system and your ship. It is possible
that they or other peoples will be deadly injured.
1.1 The indication light „ready for operation“ (green) must glow.
1.2 Fold up the cable flap in the door of the powerlock-box and lock the flap with the holder.
1.3 Check the switchboard for damage. Inform the operator of the , if you recognize any kind
of damage.
1.4 For proper cable connection: It is necessary that you follow this description.
1.4.1 Lay the power cord from your ship till to the powerlock-box. Plug it on board
into the shore connection.
1.4.2 Plug PE-Connector (green) carefully until you can rotate the connector to
right. Now rotate the connector all the way to the right.
1.4.3 Plug N-Connector (blue) carefully until you can rotate the connector to
right. all the way to the right.
1.4.4 Plug L1-Connector (brown) carefully until you can rotate the connector to
right. Now rotate the connector all the way to the right.
1.4.5 Plug L2-Connector (black) carefully until you can rotate the connector to
right. Now rotate the connector all the way to the right.
1.4.6 Plug L3-Connector (grey) carefully until you can rotate the connector to right.
Now rotate the connector all the way to the right.
1.4.7 Now you must lock the plugs with the square spanner into the powerlock box. For that, twist the square spanner 45° to left. Shouldn’t this be possible,
check you plug connection for any fault's. Only with a flawless plug
connection you can lock the connetion.
1.5 Let the powerlock-box activate by Involtum. (see the sticker by Involtum). The circuit
breaker must be complete switched off and the plug panel must be locked in to activate
the box. The indicator light „Powerlock-box activated“ (green) glows if the powerlockbox is activated. Now check your cable connection by pushing the blue button. You must
hold the blue button for 10 seconds until the indicator light „Main-switch on“ (green)
glows. Shouldn’t it glow, there is a fault on the cable connection. Please check the cables
and the plugs for any damages and proper connection.
1.6 For switching on the power supply you have to push the blue button with your right hand
until the indicator light „Main-switch on“ (green) glows. Continue holding down the blue
button to make the indicator remains illuminated and switch on the circuit breaker with
your left hand with a 90° clockwise rotation within the same time.
1.7 Shut the door of the powerlock-box. Ensure that the cables are routed through the cable
flap. The cables shouldn’t be clamped.
1.8 Now you have to turn on the shore connection on board. Your ship will supplied with
shore power now.
2.1 At first you must switch off shore connection on board.
2.2 Switch off the circuit breaker of the powerlock-box.
2.3 Now unlock the plug's with the square spanner in the powerlock-box with a right turn.
2.4 Turn all plug’s to the left and pull it then carefully out of the terminal. Begin with the L3-
Connector, follow the plug’s from right to left.
2.5 Very important: Don't forget that you have to close the door of the box after the using.
If you have ended the power consumption you get an SMS or Mail. Now you can read your
consumption.
Should it unexpectedly come to an automatic shutdown of powerlock-box,
this can have different reasons. The powerlock-box is disabled within the automatic
shutdown and for further use you will have to re-activate it by Involtum.
4.1 Power failure. All of the indicator lights do not light up. You have to wait until the
indicator light „ready for operation“ (green) comes on again. If it won’t lighten up
within the next 10 minutes inform the operator of the peer. The circuit breaker is
tripped. For that reason the indicator light „fault“ (red) will be glowing if the mains
voltage is ok. Now the circuit breaker must be complete switched off. Turn the circuit
breaker complete to left. Next follow the points 1.5 – 1.8.
4.2 If the circuit breaker tripped self-sufficient, the indicator light „fault“ (red) glows.
There is a fault on the cable connection or on the electrical system of your ship.
The triggering of the main switch can happen following reasons.
- Overload – Disable unimportant loads. Now the circuit breaker have to be
completely switched off. Turn the circuit breaker complete to left. Next follow
the points 1.5 – 1.8.
- Fault current – Check cable connections for damage. Check the electrical system
on your ship. If everything is ok the circuit breaker must be complete switched
off. Turn the circuit breaker complete to left. Next follow the points 1.5 – 1.8.
4.3 If you didn’t get the powerlock-box turned on by this description, please inform the
operator of the peer immediately.
